Definition

The hydraulic end of the pump is composed of a plunger to form a working chamber, and the volume of the working chamber undergoes periodic changes through the reciprocating linear motion of the plunger.

Application

Widely used in various fields such as chemical, petroleum, metallurgy, power, medicine, food, plastic foaming, mining machinery, etc., it has become an indispensable pump for modern industry to achieve semi automated and fully automated operations. Especially popular in the process of conveying various liquid media with high viscosity, high pressure, and high temperature.

Characteristics

1. The diameter of the plunger can be made very small, but it should not be too large, usually D=3-200mm.

2. The plunger pump has a wide range of discharge pressures and is easy to make into a high-pressure pump.

3. Can transport high viscosity media, not recommended for transporting corrosive slurries and hazardous chemicals.

4. The shaft seal is a packing seal, which may cause leakage and requires periodic adjustment of the packing. The packing and plunger are a pair of vulnerable parts.

Within the range of 10% -100% flow rate, the measurement accuracy can reach ± 1%, and the maximum pressure can reach 80MPa. When the outlet pressure changes, the flow rate remains almost unchanged.

6. Without a safety relief device, it is recommended to install a safety valve on the outlet pipeline of the pump.

7. Simple structure, easy maintenance, and good cost-effectiveness.

8. All plunger metering pumps can be controlled by adjusting the stroke length (automatic adjustment can be achieved by installing a stroke regulator) and changing the motor frequency to control the flow rate, which can be remotely controlled.
